In October 2019, one of our dealer in South Africa fitted a unit of electric bus air conditioner AC100TB onto a Mercedes Sprinter, which is a classic minibus in Southern Africa taxi market. He also expressed his expectation of testing two of it on a 9m bus.

In early August, we received an inquiry about a bus aircon unit from South Africa. At first, our sales recommend conventional engine belt driven bus aircon to customer. But we were told they want the bus aicon powered by full DC electric 24V. Our warehouse in Johannesburg just have various electric aircon for minibus in stock, so we invited our customer to visit the warehouse and have a review of Corunclima full DC electric aircon products series.

The meeting in the warehouse had a great outcome, the customer has given a high evaluation of our electric aircon, which includes T20B(heavy plant rooftop unit), K20BS2 (heavy plant split unit), AC100TB(minibus rooftop aircon), for the zero fuel costing feature and perfect installation manner. The meeting ended up with customer decided to purchased a testing unit(bus rooftop air conditioner AC100TB) to fit on a Mercedes Sprinter at first, after the testing they will test it on a longer 9m bus. He believed the electric bus air conditioner AC100TB will work perfectly on the Sprinter. There are 2 reasons he choose the AC100TB:

1. Its cooling capacity meets the space and passengers number of the Sprinter, 32800BTU will be a good enough cooling system to it.

2. The installation manner of the rooftop unit AC100TB is perfect to the small vehicle, “You can easily install the whole aircon unit on the roof at one time, that saves much labour of my workers. And inside of the Sprinter, I don’t have to install a big block evaporator unit onto the ceiling, you see, just a thin air duct will work, that is perfect.” the customer appraised.

3. The electric compressor is integrated in the rooftop unit as well, the customers don’t need to install the engine driven compressor, which saves another more labour for them.

To date, the unit of bus ac system AC100TB has been tested on the Sprinter, and works well without any issues. The customer emailed us to shared the testing results and expressed their expectation of testing the bus ac unit AC100TB on the longer bus.
